Chad Packer has been involved in Ohio Water Polo as a player, coach, and referee for over 30 years. After playing at Princeton High School, he played club water polo in college before taking the head coaching position at Sycamore HS and then Princeton where he remained until 2013 when he began refereeing. Since putting on the whites, Chad has become active in organizing local referee clinics and helping OWPRA as a Member-at-Large before his election to Supervisor of Officials in 2017. Chad also referees collegiately and is involved with USA Water Polo as the Zone Head Referee for the Great Lakes Zone. He is also the Chair for the Midwest Zone and works with the Referee Management Team as the Communications Coordinator for member sanctioning and social media.
Outside of water polo, Chad is a K-12 administrator for a career technical school district in the Greater Cincinnati area where he works with teachers specifically on innovative classroom teaching and learning. He is a graduate of the College of Education at the University of Cincinnati earning degrees in education, leadership, and policy. Chad’s wife, Heather, is a elementary school teacher. His older daughter, Maddy, is in Pharmacy major at Purdue University and his younger daughter is a sophomore in high school.
