Week 3 Email
Good Morning Everyone,
Thanks for all your work so far. This week is where it really begins to ramp up. Please be sure to be checking assignments every Monday. I'm finding myself reaching out to folks one a 1:1 right now to make some adjustments, but the finalized "This Week's" schedule will be posted on Monday. This schedule will continue to be subject to change.
Please take a look at some of the changes. Rather than referring to the availability sheet you filled out, I will assign as though you are available. If you cannot, please let me know ASAP (text or call preferred), and we can adjust. Appreciate you what are all doing by rolling with the changes. Please check back each Monday morning to assure the schedule matches. https://www.owpra.org/referee-assignments
A few additions to the schedule (Eli and Alex take a look at Sat April 3 / Sam and Mark take a look at Sat April 24)
The end of this month is a mess. Lots of moving pieces so thanks for your patience on this and for making all the adjustments to your schedules to help each other and OWPRA out. As I watched some games and refereed some games, I'm impressed by how quickly we've all picked it back up.
A few things to be watching for:
Ball in play before dribbling it. If he or she starts to dribble, let that player get about 1 - 2 strokes to remember and then turn it over.
Arm up for shots outside of 6M. I think it's even more important this year to expand that signal for anything within 6 - 8M at this level because if he or she makes it live, the ball can come forward and be shot.
If the center cannot turn because he or she is being held, that is an exclusion. Think about the positioning of the Center Defender and how he or she got there, where the pass came from, and if there's a crash or a drop to the CF.
Have a great week,
Chad
